Report: Texas lags other states in reduction of uninsured workers

A study released Wednesday indicates that the rate at which uninsured Texas workers gained health coverage in 2014 was half the rate of other states. This is being attributed to the fact that Texas didn’t expand its Medicaid coverage, an option provided by the Affordable Care Act.

After the Central Health Board approved the Master Plan for the Brackenridge redevelopment, Central Health will now release its request for proposal or qualifications for the 14.3-acre site surrounding UMCB. The plan is to transform this area into a mixed-use, health-centered community space.
