CH Board Member Meetings with the Austin City Council

I have suggested to the Central Health staff to implement this initiative that I wanted to make the Central Health Board of Managers aware of:
I attended the June 12th Austin City Council Health and Human Services Committee meeting to introduce myself to the newly elected council members. The council members in attendance were appreciative for the introduction and suggested that Central Health (CH) staff and City Council staff should schedule a meeting either annually or biannually to dialogue about the policy issues that CH is dealing with as well as CH accomplishments. All CH Board of Managers are invited to the meeting and this is an opportunity for the Austin City Council appointees to connect with the Council members who appointed them. I would ask that the CH staff reach out to the City Council staff and set up our first meeting prior to January 2020.
If Board members have concerns about the above initiative or have additional questions, please feel free to reply to this post or contact me in person. Thanks. Charles Bell
