(Austin) – A committee of Central Health’s Board of Managers will host a special public input session at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4. on the issuance of certificates of obligation to pay for construction of the new Hornsby Bend and Del Valle health and wellness centers and the Central Health Enterprise office consolidation.
Community members who wish to provide input must sign up or call at least 90 minutes before the meeting start time by following the instructions available at www.centralhealth.net/meeting-sign-in. Similar to board meetings, public comments are limited to three minutes per person.
This is the last phase of funding needed to begin construction of the new Hornsby Bend and Del Valle centers. The two sites will provide high quality care for residents with low income in Eastern Travis County, one of the fastest growing regions in the county. Proposed services include primary care, integrated mental health, dental care, pharmacy, and an on-site pharmacy and community gathering spaces. More information is available at www.centralhealth.net/our-work/expansion/dvhwc and www.centralhealth.net/our-work/expansion/hbhwc.
The office consolidation project will centralize and streamline Central Health operations, allowing the organization to redirect resources away from office lease payments and instead put them toward providing health care for people with low income. Central Health is proposing to purchase the former Sears department store in Hancock Center, located at 41st Street and Interstate 35 South – just south of the intersection of Highway 290 East. More information on the project is available at www.centralhealth.net/office-consolidation.
The Central Health Board of Managers will vote on the issuance of the bonds Aug. 9.
